All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up. -- Pablo Picasso

To be creative, one must let go of all preconceived notions and just see things for the first time. Never over-think, just let your thoughts flow.

Its very typical for me to be pressured when creating an artwork, and that makes it doubly hard to truly be able to create something.

So I would have to agree that thinking too hard on how something should come out is too logical, and it takes out the real essence of being creative.

As I thought about these things...I remembered our exercise about trying to design  something to sit on by using a ballet performance as our inspiration. it was easy at first, but when I began to run out of ideas, I got frustrated and went back to my usual over-thinking self. Then I watched Kenneth Cobonpue's (a Cebuano furniture designer) interview yesterday on TV.

“THE WORLD DOESN’T NEED (just) another chair or table because there are (already) enough out there.”

Whoa. Now that hit me right smack in the face. :D

Don't let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity. It's your place in the world; it's your life. Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live.-Mae Jemison
